Random Troll

Simple but colourful and, overall, original, this random troll by XNeonAngel is the perfect expression of the author and her art - her likes, her favourite creatures, her favourite colours, her personality, and which kind of person she is.

First of all, the simplicity of this drawing is due to the author's boreness and her unwillingness to make something more elaborated. Nevertheless, this is made up for the tonality of the drawing itself - bright colours such as yellows, oranges, teals, blues and reds that contrast with he grey and black colours, adding more livelyness to the dullness of the own troll's body. Moreover, the emo-punk style goes perfectly with the character itself - as a troll with devilish horns, this style is one of the best to combine with this type of characters. And this gieves a very positive impact too.

Secondly, let's talk about the originality of the character. We are maybe used to seeing stupid, giant, ugly trolls, innit? Well, this goes far beyond the traditional 'troll' concept. As you can clearly see, despite the fact of being a monster, the troll is quite cute and good-looking, with a pretty face, a pretty mouth and pretty eyes that give a sort of sweet appeareance. This gives a contrast with her hair, quite disheelved, but it's perfect for an emo troll, as well as the colour - black as coal, the same colour used for the t-shirt. The jeans and the pair of shoes give some colour to this mourning living show, so as not to give a depressing impression.

Finally, let's talk about its drawbacks. The simplicity is clearly one of them, as well as the apparent lack of techinique (remember, it's ment to be a random pic). As shown above, there are no shades on the pic, except under the troll's eyes, and there are no lights either. Even if it is meant to be a random pic, I would presonally put some effort in this.

In conclusion, despite its simplicity, this is a good picture. Original, colourful and quite proportionated, this troll is perfect for all emos and troll fans. Too cool to be a DeviantID - and too cool to be random, too!
